Summer camp
We partnered again with West Metro Church of Christ for Summer Camp at Camp Inagehi in Douglasville, GA, on Friday-Tuesday, July 17-21, 2026. Camp is for ages 8 to 18. The cost is $185 per camper.

BHKids ~ Children's Ministry
Our Children's Ministry serves children from 6 weeks old through 5th grade in a safe, loving, and Christ-centered environment where every child is known, valued, and encouraged to grow into a lifelong follower of Jesus.
Our Nursery and Preschool classes are grouped by age, while our Elementary classes are grouped by grade level to provide developmentally appropriate teaching and
meaningful relationships.
Beginning in our Preschool classes and continuing through 5th grade, we use the Brite curriculum, which is built on a philosophy of resilient child discipleship. Through engaging Bible teaching, worship, discussion, games, and hands-on activities, children learn God's Word, build a strong foundation of faith, and discover how to follow Jesus with confidence in an ever-changing world. Every class is designed to engage a variety of learning styles through interactive teaching, age-appropriate activities, and meaningful relationships with trusted volunteers.
Our goal is to help every child become biblically literate, rooted in Christ, and equipped to live out their faith with courage and compassion.
Our Nursery provides a nurturing environment where our youngest children experience God's love through caring volunteers, songs, play, prayer, and simple Bible truths that begin laying the foundation for a lifetime of faith.
We believe parents are the primary spiritual leaders in their children's lives, and we are honored to partner with families as we disciple the next generation. Our Sunday morning Bible classes are one of the primary environments where children learn God's Word, ask questions, build lasting friendships, and discover what it means to know Jesus, love Him deeply, and reach out in love to others.
Nursery
We provide loving care during our morning worship service for infants through 23 months. Children can be brought to the nursery before or at any time during worship.
PRESCHOOL worship
We provide a special time of age-appropriate worship for our children on
Sunday mornings during our service. Children are dismissed following the "Children's Contribution." Preschool Worship is for 2-year-olds through PreKindergarten-aged children. A team of worship
leaders helps children worship God in ways they can understand and
connect.
Sunday classes
We offer classes for children from 6 weeks through 5th grade. Classes begin at about 11:15 a.m., following our morning worship service, which begins at 10:00 a.m.

Illumination Station
May 31 - June 3
We had a blast during VBS - Illumination Station! While many people claim to know about Jesus, many are in the dark about who He really is. During VBS the kids explored all the ways light brightens, illuminates, reflects, and reveals. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped make this time fun and safe for our children.
Jesus spoke to them again: " I am the light of the world. Anyone who follows me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of life." John 8:12

cHILDREN'S MINISTER AND BRIGHT BEGINNINGS hEAD OF SCHOOL
Beth has a degree in Early Childhood Education and 5 years’ experience as a 2nd grade teacher in Cobb County schools. She has taught Sunday School for various grades for 12 years and chaperoned and led mission trips to Cozumel, Mexico. As our Children's Minister, she oversees our children ages birth to 6th grade, which includes preschool Sunday classes, children’s worship and the nursery.

We take child safety seriously
The Burnt Hickory leadership believes God expects us to make our church a safe place for children. In an effort to do our best to provide a safe environment, our children and youth leaders and volunteers are required to submit an application, go through a background check, and Child Safety Training.
